Our bathroom is tiny. Is anything like this realistic?
Small rooms can carry a lot of this, though the tub-to-shower call usually decides it. Drainage and the floor structure set the limits, so we check those on site first.
How do you get that much light into a bathroom?
Usually a window in the right place, mirrors sized to bounce it, and lighting at face height, not only overhead. Not all of it needs a structural change.
What's actually behind these walls? I've heard horror stories about leaks.
Waterproofing, the substrate under the tile and the drainage falls. None of it shows in a photo, and all of it decides whether the room lasts. Ask how each is specified in your scope.
Can I have a double vanity if the room isn't wide?
There's a minimum width before two basins stop being comfortable. Below it, one basin with more counter usually works better day to day. We'll measure and tell you which side of that line you're on.
We want to lose the tub. Any reason not to?
Resale sometimes argues for keeping one bathtub in the house. Beyond that it's about drainage and the floor. If it's your only tub, worth a conversation first.
How long is a bathroom out of use for work like this?
Plan for the whole room being unavailable, not just part of it. Tile and fixture lead times often set the schedule more than the labour does.
Can the same tile go on the floor and up the walls?
Often yes, and it makes a small room read bigger. Floor tile needs the right slip rating though, so the choice starts there and works upward.
Is underfloor heating worth doing in Florida?
Rarely for warmth. Some people like it for a cold tile floor in the morning. It has to be decided before the floor goes down, so raise it early either way.
We have two bathrooms to do. Cheaper together?
Usually, when they share plumbing walls or the same finishes. Mention both up front so the sequence can be planned as one job.
