I'm so done with climbing into a tub. Can you swap it for a walk-in shower?

I could obsess over tile forever, but what should I really be worried about in here?
The stuff you'll never see afterward: waterproofing, the substrate under the tile, drainage falls and ventilation. Finishes are the visible part, but these decide whether the room holds up. Ask how each one gets specified in your scope.
This is the only bath in the house. How long am I going to be without it?
It depends on the scope, on tile and fixture lead times and on inspection timing. Ask for the expected sequence during the estimate, and plan for the room to be out of action for all of it.
We've actually got two bathrooms that need help. Can you tackle both together?
Yes, and it's often more efficient when the bathrooms share plumbing walls or the same finishes. Mention every room you're considering so we can plan the sequence together.
Once plumbing gets involved I assume there's paperwork. Do I need a permit for this?

My knees aren't what they used to be. Can the bathroom be made easier to get around?
